There is still two month left to take advantage of early bird pricing for the Niagara Falls Women’s Half Marathon.

The second annual women’s half is set for June 2 and features a flat out-and-back course taking runners and walkers along the Niagara River and past glorious Niagara Falls twice. The race’s website states unique finisher’s medals will be presented at the finish line by a fire fighter or cheerleader and swag bags will include a bottle of Chateau des Charmes V.Q.A. wine, cosmetics, restaurant discounts and more.

“We have created a celebration of fitness and healthy lifestyles and had an amazing inaugural event on June 3, 2012 with close to 1,200 women runners and walkers,” said Eric Hitchcock, one of the organizers for the women’s half. “We already have over 400 women signed up for 2013.”

Registration opened in November with entry fees set at $99 plus HST. Fees increase to $109 plus HST after Jan. 31 and to $119 after April 30.

Online registration closes May 28 at 11:59 p.m.

Organizers need volunteers as well. Anyone interested can send an email to ross@traintracksproductions.com or call 905-401-3344. The event raises funds for Women’s Place of South Niagara.
